Posted in

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) presents large Indian contingent of 52 Exhibitors at the India Pavilion at JCK Las Vegas to be held from 10th to 13th June 2022. India would be showcasing a wide variety of trendy and innovative jewellery made for new-age consumers especially for the US market.

India Pavilion is spread over an area of 6320 sq ft, and located at Passport (Level 1), Diamond Plaza & Lab Grown (Level 2); and India Design Gallery at booth no. L105, Level 1. Buyers will get to witness products of the highest quality, including loose diamonds, coloured gemstones, plain gold jewellery, pearl jewellery, silver jewellery as well as diamond and coloured stone studded jewellery.

For India, JCK Las Vegas has been a significant platform to further strengthen its network and improve its exports to the USA. It is also an opportunity for Indian exporters to understand the latest trends in the market which helps them to come back each year with trendy and region-specific products for the buyers here.

Colin Shah, Chairman, GJEPC said, “There is a renewed synergy and flow of trade between India and the USA, especially in gems and jewellery. India is today recognised for superior, trendy and well-engineered diamond-studded collections that are brought to life with the most high-tech equipment available today. We are one of the largest sources for the US market and our continual presence at JCK Las Vegas show under the India Pavilion section is a testimony to the US retail sector’s growing demand for world-class design and quality from India. Out of the India’s total gem and jewellery exports of $38.15 billion in 2021, the US market alone accounted for more than two-thirds (37%) or $14.01 billion. Post the pandemic, there is a growing jewellery demand witnessed in the US market. Participants at the JCK India Pavilion have especially tailor-made products that are aesthetically relevant for the US audience.”

One of the special attractions this year at the JCK Las Vegas show will be the exclusive India Design Gallery, showcasing some of the most magnificent bejewelled creations.

The Jewellery at India Design Gallery have been designed by the finalists of Artisan Awards, a Design led initiative by GJEPC. Artisan Awards recognizes and rewards the best in jewellery design and celebrates the highest level of artistry, innovation and individuality, elevating jewellery designers to their rightful status of artists.

The Artisan Awards 2022 theme – “The Collectors” was based on 3 iconic and legendary women who were known for their incredible style; insatiable hunger for beautiful, one-of-a-kind, signature jewels – a) Elizabeth Taylor, b) Barbara Hutton, and c) Wallis Simpson.

Today, the Indian gem & jewellery industry is at its pinnacle. All thanks to its 5 million workforce. For this industry, ethical business practices precede any other. ‘Business with a Conscience’ has been its mantra for decades now and it indeed reflects in the efforts taken by the industry to adopt measures for the wellbeing of not only its workforce but also initiates several other programs for the greater good.

The Indian Gem & Jewellery Industry and GJEPC have invested heavily in its workforce by adopting high standards of modernisation, safety, cleanliness and other socio-economic benefits such as, medical facilities, employment generation and second-to-none training programs for workers amongst others.
